Beat the Winter Blues in Kansas City: 5 Fun Ideas

Here at Sweet Kickin Salsa, we are bursting with Kansas City pride. Kansas City has a ton of fun things to do all year long, but in winter it can get cold – so sitting on a patio and sipping a Boulevard Wheat isn’t really an option.

5 Things to do in Kansas City During Winter

We have put together a short list of fun things to do in Kansas City during winter.

Fly High at Sky Zone

indoor-trampolines

Sky Zone is a unique experience unlike any other in the city. They have freestyle, ultimate volleyball, ultimate dodgeball, and basketball (sky slam), all done while jumping on wall-to-wall trampolines. This is an extremely fun time for the entire family, make sure you eat a little something before you go!

Visit the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

If you haven’t been to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art yet, you are missing out. You could get lost for hours in this beautiful museum. They really have something for everybody from modern art to mummies; this place is truly a Kansas City treasure and its FREE.

Go Antiquing

antique-store

There are so many amazing antique shops and malls across the city. Although this suggestion isn’t as kid-friendly as Sky Zone, it is always interesting to see things people owned in the past. The experience is even better when you find a hidden gem (vintage Star Wars figurines anyone?)

Our favorite KC antique malls include:

Get Active and Go Climbing

indoor-rock-climbing

The IBEX Climbing Gym in Blue Springs is a great way to stay active when the gym is overrun with well-meaning resolution warriors, and it is too chilly to get an outdoor workout in. After you are done scaling those walls, stop by a grocery store near you and pick up some SKS!

Salsa and Chill?

If it is just too cold to go out, why not snuggle up with your favorite blanket, put on your favorite show, and tuck into a big bowl of Sweet Kickin Salsa? Our salsa is made right here in Kansas City with a unique blend of spices. Click here to check out our products.
