Which Tortilla Chip is Best for Sweet Kickin Salsa?

You might like to put Sweet Kickin Salsa on tacos, burritos, eggs, or even on your popcorn (I’m not going to judge!) but most people buy it knowing that at least half the jar is going to be dipped onto chips. How much thought do you put into your chip purchase? Probably not as much as I did, so keep reading to find out which chips go best with our salsa.

White Corn Chips Allow More Sweet Kickin Flavor

These are the most subtlety flavored chip but has quite a bit more salt than a lot of its counterparts. If you want to taste the salsa, the whole salsa, and nothing but the salsa, white corn tortilla chips are the best chip for you. The downside is white corn chips are usually the least sturdy and have a tendency to break off in the jar (don’t look at me like that, I don’t always get a bowl out for salsa and I know you don’t either).

Yellow Corn Chips Hold Up Against the Competition

These have more corn flavor than white corn chips (how do they do that?!), usually less salty, and sturdy enough to hold up to even the chunkiest of salsas, yellow corn tortilla chips are a good “every day” chip for your chips and salsa snacking needs. These work super well with Sweet Kickin Salsa’s Mild and Medium flavors that tend to be of the chunky variety.

Scoop-Shaped Chips are for Maximum Dips

If you’re more interested in the “salsa” part of eating “chips and salsa,” you’re looking for a scoop-shaped chip. They have the most room to pack on the salsa and they’re puffier than any other kind of corn chip, giving them enough strength to hold nearly a half teaspoon of salsa per chip—it’s the next best thing to just eating our salsa with a spoon, no judgement if you eat salsa with a spoon as long as it is good salsa!

Hint of Lime Adds Something Special to Sweet Kickin Salsa

Hint of lime chips are admittedly and acquired taste, but hear me out. The sweet tomato flavor and our blend of spices get an extra little kick from the sour citrusy flavor that hint of lime adds. If you want to try something new, something exotic, something that’s still chips and salsa, try Sweet Kickin Salsa’s Medium salsa with a hint of lime chip and see if it is for you.

Flour Tortilla Chips Hard to Find but Worth the Time

To eat flour tortilla chips properly, the chip should be dipped in queso, then in salsa, or dipped in queso that has salsa mixed in. The downside is flour tortilla chips can be ridiculously hard to find. So hard to find that it’s usually easier to make your own than find them in the grocery store. (Preheat oven to 350 degrees, stack 3 flour tortillas and cut into triangles or strips, put cut tortillas in a bowl and coat with 1 tablespoon oil, spread tortillas on a baking sheet, sprinkle with salt, bake for 10 minutes or until browned, remove from baking sheet and let cool, serve immediately with queso and Sweet Kickin Salsa.)

Which chip is the best overall? That depends on you and your preferences. I prefer the hint of lime and yellow corn. If I’m going all-out, flour tortilla chips with salsa and queso.
